The whole appeal of a leather patch is that it ages. The hide darkens, the surface softens, and a cap that has been worn for two years looks better than one straight out of the box. That is the entire reason anyone chooses leather over an embroidered patch.

It only happens with full-grain leather. Bonded leather — scrap ground up and reformed with adhesive — and split hide both crack at the fold within a season, and by then the invoice is long closed. Most of the market runs on them because the difference is invisible in a product photograph.

So we only stock full grain, we say so plainly, and we would rather lose the order on price than sell a patch that will look worse in six months than it does on the day it arrives.

Why we exist

The leather patch category filled up fast with suppliers selling one cap, one patch shape and an unnamed leather. Ask what the hide is and the answer is usually ‘genuine leather’, which is a legal term that includes bonded scrap.

We publish the material, cut any patch shape with no die charge, and send an engraving proof at actual size before anything runs. None of that is generous; it is just the minimum for a product bought because it is supposed to last.

What we actually make

Six ranges: mesh-back truckers, unstructured washed dad hats, cuffed acrylic and wool blend beanies, structured fitted and flat-brim caps, loose patches with sew-on, heat-adhesive or peel-and-stick backing, and cap-plus-beanie gift sets boxed with tissue and a printed card.

Vector redraw and stroke adjustment for engraving are free, and we keep the files. Leather tone, patch shape and cap colourway all get matched on the mockup before you approve, including matching to a photograph of your bar top or your existing merchandise if that is what you are working to.
